    Rumours: Nokia Working on Lumia Phablet and EOS Smartphone

    Nokia are looking to increase coverage of their Windows Phone 8 smartphones by also introducing Lumia Phablets or phone tablets. Building upon the 5.5-inch and above phablet form factor that Samsung has created, the Lumia phablet will supposedly have more advanced specs than Samsung's Galaxy Note (no news if this refers to the Note I or the Note II). One of these features may also include a HD display which Nokia was earlier rumoured to be developing for their smartphones.

This 8-inch tablet sports S Pen support and should be available at Senheng or senQ stores in Malaysia starting from next week.

    Maxis seems to be dropping prices on their smartphone bundles on a weekly basis as this week they revise their Samsung Galaxy Note II bundles so that you can buy one for as low as RM1149. Of course this means having to sign up for a contract under Maxis but this time Maxis are being a bit more flexible in terms of their contracts.

    Samsung recently made an official confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will be released in the US on 11 April 2013. This 8-inch tablet looks to compete with Apple's iPad Mini but raises the bar in terms of price to $399 for a 16GB device with WiFi. To put this into context the Apple iPad Mini costs around $329 while the rival Google Nexus 7 just costs $199.

    As the weeks go by, another major smartphone telco bundle drops in price and this time Celcom has decided to do that for the Samsung Galaxy Note II. While previous bundles saw the price dip down to RM1999, Celcom are now offering the Samsung Galaxy Note II from as low as RM1458. The lower subsidized price is available for their Celcom First Prime, Premier or Elite on the condition that it comes with a Mobile Internet plan and a 12 months or 18 months contract.     With Samsung churning out new models almost daily, it was bound to happen eventually and therefore DiGi has announced the Samsung Galaxy Note II at a very much decreased price with their new DG Smart Plan 88. When the Samsung Galaxy Note II first came out it retailed at a pretty high RM2299 so this price drop is a little bit more than RM1000 but according to DiGi you save about RM740 on the Galaxy Note II based on the retail price of RM1999. This savings is based on the DG Smart Plan 88 for a contract of 24 months.
