Samsung's new 'Holiday Dreams' video features 74 Samsung devices

Christmas holidays have already started and Samsung plans to put everyone in the holiday mood with its latest video. The company recently released a new dreamscape movie on its official YouTube channel called the 'Holiday Dreams'. The video is quite different than any other advertisements released by the company recently and features 74 Samsung devices which include flagship smartphones, tablets and even large screen Samsung HDTVs. From the video, we could make out some of the Galaxy devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and even some Samsung smartwatches. All these devices are built on a rig. This rig can be moved, twisted or even bended to portray the entire story in one video. The story revolves around a small girl who chases her favorite stocking in a dream. She jumps, falls and even swims across a number of Samsung devices to finally get her stocking. Samsung also points out that the story video required a lot of effort.  The transition from one device to another is not animated but captured live. The video had to be played on each device at the appropriate time to make it look like the girl seamlessly jumped across a number of devices. Below, we have added the 'Behind the scenes' video as well which shows the amount of effort required for making the whole 'Holiday Dreams' video.

Maxis offering Sony Xperia Z3 with trade-in offer from RM1499

Maxis are now offering the Sony Xperia Z3 with a trade-in offer up to RM950. Certain smartphones like the Apple iPhone 5S or Samsung Galaxy S5 will get this rebate but even if you bring in a no-name phone it will still get a trade-in value of RM200 (as long as it is still working). Granted, you will have to sign up for a Maxis One plan for 24 months but you'll be able to get the Xperia Z3 from RM1499 which is quite a drop from the retail value of RM2399. Check out the details in the table in this article.

  • Sony Xperia Z3 Compact battery life benchmarked

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact battery life benchmarked

The newly released Sony Xperia Z3 Compact offers a number of great tech specs and features in a small package that can easily fit into your pocket. While these features include the 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM and 20.7MP rear camera with IP67 water proofing, it turns out that the 2600 mAh battery is also worthy of praise. This is because recent battery life benchmarks place the Xperia Z3 Compact around the top in terms of battery life on single charge. At 10 hours or so of continuous heavy usage, the Xperia Z3 Compact can easily last 2 days without having to charge on normal usage. Checking out the competition, it easily beats the much larger Apple iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S5 and even it's bigger brother the Sony Xperia Z3. • Rumours: Samsung Galaxy A5 leaked?

    Rumours: Samsung Galaxy A5 leaked?

The rumoured but unannounced Samsung Galaxy A5 has been leaked. The slim metal frame looks to follow that of the recently released Samsung Galaxy Alpha but offers midrange tech specs and features with a non-removable cover. Up until this point, Samsung usually make their phones with removable back covers, even the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha, so this is a big thing in terms of design. Tech specs include support for 4G LTE, dual-SIM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 16GB worth of storage and a microSD slot along with a 2300 mAh battery. No details yet on Malaysia release dates or pricing but we expect it to be around RM1K with these tech specs. Check out the leaked images for yourself in this article.

5 Reasons you should NOT buy an Apple iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus

Another day, another bit of information on the still unrevealed tech specs for the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones. As we wait for 19 September 2014 when those who have ordered their iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus will get them and no doubt reveal all the tech specs, it turns out that both smartphones will come packing 1GB of RAM and have cameras that protrude or stick out from the super thin metal casing. • Rumours: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 tech specs appears on AnTuTu

Rumours: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 tech specs appears on AnTuTu

While it usually offers benchmark scores, the AnTuTu site is also rather infamous for revealing the tech specs and features of upcoming smartphones and mobile devices. It appears that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could be one of the latest devices to appear on the AnTuTu site. This listing reveals the Galaxy Note 4 tech specs to include a Samsung Exynos 5433 processor with ARM Mali T760 graphics. Other tech specs include 3GB RAM, 16GB of storage and a 16MP rear camera along with Android 4.4.4. Unconfirmed but anticipated tech specs for the Galaxy Note includes a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The AnTuTu listing has since revealed that it will pack a resolution of 1440 x 2560 and we expect the camera to be the same 16MP ISOCELL camera sensor currently available on the Samsung Galaxy S5. Many are hoping that the Note 4 will be enough to revitalize Samsung's decline, but rather than head for the premium flagship area we think the battle they need to win will be in the midrange and entry level, something which Samsung is currently lacking. No Malaysia release dates or pricing is available yet, but stay tuned for the Samsung UNPACKED event on 3 September 2014 for more information.

  • Samsung Galaxy Alpha coming to Malaysia soon

Samsung Galaxy Alpha coming to Malaysia soon

The just announced metal frame Samsung Galaxy Alpha could well be on the way to Malaysia in record time. This comes from a listing of the SM-G850F, which is the model number for the Galaxy Alpha, at the SIRIM database. The listing shows a number of tech specs and also confirms that the model we will be getting here in Malaysia will have 4G LTE connectivity. Other recently confirmed tech specs include the fact that the 12MP rear camera uses a Samsung ISOCELL camera sensor, and therefore, should be able to deliver similar performance with the 16MP ISOCELL sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S5. We still don't have any details on the exact Malaysia release date or pricing but we expect the Malaysia release of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha to be within a month from this date based on the previous release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

  • Metal-frame Samsung Galaxy Alpha officially announced

Metal-frame Samsung Galaxy Alpha officially announced

Samsung fans have waited a long time for a semi-premium smartphone made from metal, and Samsung have finally given in by officially announcing the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Rumoured to be the Samsung smartphone with the brushed metal backside, this appears to be still a rumour as only the frame is solid metal, but it does a lot to making the phone feel more premium. The Galaxy Alpha should now have less flex and feel a lot more sturdy compared to the larger and thicker yet more plastic build of the Samsung Galaxy S5. The perforated design on the back casing remains the same though just as the back material is also still plastic. Ironically, the Galaxy Alpha is much lighter at 115g and super thin at just 6.7mm.
