  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 hands-on (video included)

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 hands-on (video included)

We managed to check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 hands-on at the launch event yesterday and found that yes, these are indeed the thinnest and lightest tablets from Samsung we've seen and held yet. At just 298g the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 feels like a toy for it's size and while the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is a bit heavier at 467g it is still super light for how big and awesome looking the screens are on both tablets. Both come in dazzling white and titanium bronze, which more or less means white plastic with gold metallic trim and black plastic with gold metallic trim. The backside follows the same perforated design as the Samsung Galaxy S5. Build quality is very solid despite both feeling super light but we have to say that it felt more rounded than completely flat. The tablets are running Android 4.4.2 and as expected of them, the main feature is their Super AMOLED screens. Check out the pics and video in this article for yourself.

Rumours: Samsung Galaxy S5 mini appears next to Galaxy S5, also benchmarked

The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini rumoured to be based on the Samsung Galaxy S5 recently made an appearance next to the Galaxy S5. The pics don't reveal much more than what we already know, that the Galaxy S5 mini is likely to be just as water resistant as the Galaxy S5 and that it will feature the same perforated design as before. However, the pics do come with benchmarks from AnTuTu, which show the Galaxy S5 mini getting an AnTuTu score of 18405. It also reveals tech specs such as a 1.4GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos 3470 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB storage, 8MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera and a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 720p pixel resolution. The phone is also set to come with a fingerprint scanner, heartrate sensor and 4G LTE. No news yet on Malaysia pricing or release dates though.

  • Rumours: Samsung Galaxy F leaked pics appear with brushed metal backside

Rumours: Samsung Galaxy F leaked pics appear with brushed metal backside

There have been rumours of a metal-backed premium smarpthone from Samsung since forever, but new pics that have leaked online show that this may not be a rumour for much longer. Called the Samsung Galaxy F, the pics show a shape similar to the Samsung Galaxy S5 but sporting a black brushed metal backside, much like that of the LG G3. Other features include a heart rate monitor, fingerprint sensor and a 5.3-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. Other tech specs include a Snapdragon 805 processor, 16MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). No news yet on pricing but it is expected around September, around the same time as the Apple iPhone 6. Hopefully Samsung does not run into any supply problems as is often the case with new metal body smartphones.

Samsung has officially announced their first Tizen based smartphone with the Samsung Z. Featuring the same artificial leather backside as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 it stands apart from other Samsung Galaxy devices with rather sharp corners compared to the much rounder design on the Samsung Galaxy S5. Tech specs and features for the Samsung Z include a 2.3GHZ quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage with up to 64GB microSD, 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera.

  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Active officially announced for AT&T in US

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active officially announced for AT&T in US

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active has been officially announced for the AT&T telco in the US. While it does look different from the Samsung Galaxy S5 with it's rugged looking backside and physical buttons below the touchscreen display, it turns out that it carries the same IP67 water and dust resistance certification as the Galaxy S5. Tech specs and features for the Samsung Galaxy S5 active include a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 11GB storage, 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, 16MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2800 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2. While there is a military theme going on, we can't confirm that it actually has military grade shock proofing and since it is made for AT&T there's practically no hope that we'll see it appear in Malaysia any time soon.

  • Rumours: Samsung Galaxy S5 mini images leaked with heart rate and finger print sensors?

Rumours: Samsung Galaxy S5 mini images leaked with heart rate and finger print sensors?

Rumours indicate that we could soon see a mini version of the Samsung Galaxy S5. We assume this will be called the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, while the leaked images reveal not only a similar perforated backside but also a fingerprint scanner on the home button along with a hear rate sensor below the rear camera. Overall, not much seems changed from the overall design and features except for a standard microUSB port and smaller rear camera hump. The back panel retains the same rubber lining as before, indicating that the Galaxy S5 mini may be just as water and dust resistant as it's bigger version. Other rumoured tech specs include a 1.4GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, 1.5GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution, 8MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera and 16GB worth of storage. As with all rumours we do suggest that you take this with a good pinch of salt as it could just be a miniturized knock off version of the Samsung Galaxy S5. Stay tuned for more developments.
