Celcom offers Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite from RM138

While it may seem too little too late, Celcom are offering the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite from RM138 on their Celcom First Data plan. While the tablet retails at RM699, the bundles are fairly affordable and you have a choice of 12 month or 24 month contracts. While the tech specs for the tablet are rather basic, it does provide for a good mobile experience for those basic entry-level users. For more details check out the table and links in this article.

New Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite owners can now win a Vespa!

We'd never think to pair a Vespa with a tablet, but Samsung are thinking out of the box for their new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite tablet with their "Samsung Unlock Joy and Win" contest. Samsung user manual confirms Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SMT-T110)

While it hasn't been announced officially just yet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite or SMT-T110 has been officially confirmed by it's own manual. The user manual appeared on the Samsung Polish website with details about the SM-T110 which is the WiFi-only version of the Tab 3 Lite. The site also revealed prices with the WiFi-only version going for $165 (RM541) and the 3G version going for $263 (RM863). Tech specs and features for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite were confirmed with a 1.2GHz dual-core Marvell PXA986 processor, Vivante GC1000 graphics, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 7-inch display with 600 x 1024 pixel resolution, microSD card support, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a 3600 mAh battery. The user manual doesn't give enough image details to know if the design will be much different from before but at 192 x 177 x 9.7mm and 310g it is a bit larger and heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. No Malaysia release date just yet but with the user manual already here the tablet should be available soon.

Samsung is expected to release 4 new tablets in early 2014 but already, rumours about the release dates, names and tech specs have appeared as well. These new tablets will supposedly include the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 or SM-T320/T325, the  Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1  or SM-T520/T525, the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 or SM-P900/P905 and the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite or SM-T110/T111. While the first three tablets will be headed for the "Pro" user, the Tab 3 Lite seems to be for the more budget conscious user with a price tag of around EUR100 (RM450). Regarding tech specs, the Pro tablets will have 4G LTE while the Tab 3 Lite is limited to just 3G, a 7-inch screen and is only available in white. The Pro tablets will be available in black and white and have 16GB storage except for the Note Pro 12.2 which will have 32GB. The other Pro tablets are expected to arrive with Super AMOLED displays. Release dates on the other hand are expected at week 2 of 2014 for the Tab 3 Lite, week 6-7 for the Tab Pro 8.4 and Note Pro 12.2 (probably during the MWC Expo) and week 8 for the Note Pro 12.2 with Malaysia release dates to be expected afterwards.

  • Rumours: Samsung may release 4 new tablets for the midrange masses in early 2014

Rumours: Samsung may release 4 new tablets for the midrange masses in early 2014

According to rumours, Samsung may release 4 new tablets that focus more on the midrange and entry-level markets in 2014. As it is, Samsung have already flooded the premium markets nearly to the point of saturation, leaving the entry-level and midrange markets more or less undeveloped. These rumoured midrange tablets include the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, a 12-inch Galaxy Note tablet and a 13.3-inch convertible with dual-boot operating systems. Still no news yet if or when we'll see some more affordable PLS-LCD based devices just yet or for how much but we expect them to come during the MWC Expo in February 2014. While Samsung have dominated in the smartphone field they haven't been doing very well with tablets and this is something which could change come 2014. No Malaysia release dates or pricing though, but stay tuned and we'll keep you updated.
