The Samsung Galaxy Tab A series tablets were recently announced in Russia with two devices in 8-inch and 9.7-inch display sizes. Going for a flat and thin look with metal backside, both look a lot likeApple iPad tablets except for the placement of the cameras and even the display resolution is similar with 1024 x 768 pixels for both Galaxy Tab A tablets. However, the tablets will be powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, up to 128GB microSD, 4200 mAh battery for the smaller version and 6000 mAh for the larger version. Other tech specs include dual speakers, a 5MP and 2MP camera. Unfortunately, no news of any S-Pen support. Pricing is set at RUB16990 (RM1019) for the WiFi 8-inch Galaxy Tab A, while the larger version will go for RUB18990 (RM1139). The 4G LTE enabled smaller Galaxy Tab A will go for RUB20990 (RM1259) while the larger will go for RUB22990 (RM1379). No news on Malaysia release dates but it could reach Malaysia eventually.

The rumoured Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus could be coming soon as some tech specs of the two tablets have come up on Sam Mobile. These include 8-inch and 9.7-inch display versions but the Tab A Plus may have S-pen stylus support. According to the report this will be the first Samsung tablet outside of the Note range of products to feature something like this. Other tech specs include a Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and a 4000 mAh battery for the Tab A. The Tab A Plus will feature 2GB RAM and a 6000 mAh battery while other tech specs will remain the same. Earlier reports may have indicated that Samsung could be reducing the number of devices it has on hand but new rumours indicate that we could soon be seeing some new tablets. This is due to a report saying that the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Samsung Galaxy Tab E and Samsung Galaxy Tab J trademarks have been applied for at the Korean Intellectual Property Office. No news yet whether these are just codenames or if Samsung will be streamlining their Galaxy Tab product range (Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Tab S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note Pro) to just these three devices. No tech specs or features were mentioned but as usual, do take this rumour with a good pinch of salt or at least until we know more.
