Nov 18, 2015
Back in the year 1999, Samsung launched the world's very first watch phone – The SPH-WP10. The watch phone was capable of executing 90 minutes talk time and had a monochrome LCD screen. Then after a decade, the S9110 was released and it looked like a miniature phone making it the world's slimmest watch phone in the period. As time progressed, smartwatches came along and Samsung introduced the Galaxy Gear, followed by the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo,Gear Fit, Gear S and now the Gear S2 which is coming to Malaysia on 27 November.

The Samsung Gear S2 is the latest addition to the company’s smartwatch line and there are actually two options - the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic. As you can tell from the name, the Gear S2 is made for a more modern look while the classic version is for those who prefer a more timeless watch design with a leather band (straps are changeable).
The official Gear S2 and S2 classic sale will be on 27 November pricing at RM1399 and RM1599 respectively, there will also be pre-order promotion in Samsung Malaysia website starting from 20 November for three days. The Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic smartwatches have been officially announced recently. Measuring in at 11.4mm thin the Gear S2 uses a 1.2-inch circular display with 360 x 360 pixel resolution. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and Tizen OS the Gear S2 also has a version with built-in 3G, so you can slot in an e-SIM and make voice calls direct with the smartwatch. While it offers new fitness tracking functions, the main standout features for the Gear S2 include NFC and compatiblity with Samsung Pay along with a 2-3 day battery life. Samsung Gear apps remain rather limited but at least the Gear S2 is IP68 rated (you can bring it swimming) and has built-in WiFi with Wireless Charging features.
