    Selangor MB: Data of over 3.7 million Selangor residents collected on the Selangkah app will be shared with PADU

    The Selangor State Government has announced that it is ready to share data collected through the Selangkah application with the Central Database Hub (PADU). Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari asserted that data from the Selangkah app would be used for cross-checking and updating the information of Selangor residents in PADU.

    The Selangor state government via Tourism Selangor yesterday launched the ‘Go Selangor’, a mobile app that provides tourists full access to tourism products in the state. The only state tourism app available in Malaysia, it is hoped that the platform can help boost the economy in Selangor.

    K-KOMM: Selangor will be prioritised for 5G network upgrade over other states in Malaysia

    The Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM) has announced that Selangor will be given priority in the ministry’s efforts to implement and upgrade 5G service networks in our country. Its minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa yesterday confirmed that K-KOMM is currently in the midst of three ongoing programmes under the National Digital Network (JENDELA).

    One of the programmes is the upgrade to 5G in Selangor and increasing 4G towers nationwide at the same time. Meanwhile, the other two programmes under JENDELA are increasing the number of households with fibre optic connections as well as the upgrade of 3G transmitter system to 4G.

    Selangor’s new flood warning system with 7-day advance notice to be ready by end of March

    Following the severe floods that plagued most of the state in December last year, the Selangor State Government has announced that a new flood warning system will be operational by the end of this month. The high-tech system will be able to predict floods 7 days in advance as well as areas in Selangor that will be affected. 

    The matter was announced yesterday by the Selangor State Infrastructure and Agriculture Committee chairman Izham Hashim who believed that Selangor will soon be able to manage future floods more effectively with the new system in place. As reported by Malay Mail, Izham said that the 7 days advance notice will help to put rescue teams on alert to respond to any rise in water levels.

    Soon it might be possible for Waze users here in Malaysia to alert the local municipal councils in regards to potholes, by reporting it through the Waze app. The Selangor state government wants to further strengthen their initiatives to create smart solutions in Selangor, and currently, they are are in talks with the Waze developer to see whether this can be made possible.
