Samsung recently trademarked 7 new names under the USPTO (United States Patents and Trademarks Office) including Samsung Micro, Mobile Samsung 5G, Samsung Fit, Samsung Micro, Samsung Expo, Samsung Go, Samsung Pro and the S MUSICIAN. Quite obviously, the trademarks are for different things as the Mobile Samsung 5G indicates the 5G network that the company was said to have been working on (and supposedly already completed). The Samsung Expo could indicate a yearly event of some sort while the Samsung Micro, Go, Fit and Pro all sound like device names, perhaps for smartphones, fitness devices, tablets and other similar things. The S MUSICIAN on the other hand sounds like another 'S' feature ready to come out for Samsung's already extensive list of 'S' features, perhaps a ringtone maker for their upcoming smartphones. Previously you could only view things on your HDTV from other devices like your computer if it had WiFi and was DLNA compatible. This also meant you had to have a DLNA compatible server, NAS or device to stream from and you'd still have to use the HDTV's remote control and interface to navigate all the media you'd like shown on your big screen. Now, Google have released Chromecast, a rooted Android-based HDMI dongle that plugs into your HDTV and lets you stream media from practically any device that can connect to the Internet.

Ever wanted a stronger flash for your teensy tiny built-in smartphone LED flash? Well, startup iblazr is currently developing such a flash just for smartphone and tablet users. The equally small world's first portable smartphone flash comes with 4 CREE LEDs that should provide 100 lux on 1m in video mode and more than 180 lux in flash mode. Less then 10mm thick, the iblazr flash connects through the earphone jack but since it has it's own built-in battery, it won't drain your smartphone. Due to its design it can be switched around for either your rear or forward camera. The free app that comes with it will let you control the brightness in either video or impulse mode. For more information check out the iblazr site.
