Every year, the end of October is when things start getting exciting for gamers. We usually see a lot of game announcements at this time of the year, and this time around we have a big reveal from Square Enix. Specifically, the publisher confirmed that a new Star Ocean game is on the way.

If you're gaming on your Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5), you can press the Share button on your controller to send screenshots or video clips to others. It's not the fastest or most convenient interface of sharing, but there hasn't been another way of doing it on your phone before. Until now, that is.

In this period, it's a pretty great time to buy video games as a source of entertainment for staying at home. You have the infamous Steam sales, the occasional Switch sales, but it seems that the Sony PlayStation Summer Deals is still ongoing for a longer time. 

For those unaware, Sony acquired Crunchyroll for USD 1.175 billion (~RM4.98 billion) at the end of last year. The move was recently completed, so Sony could be thinking about how to make use of the platform. One way could involve PlayStation Plus.

Sony has announced the new PS5 VR controllers and they surely look amazing. The controllers now feature a more ergonomic design by being orb-shaped. Hideaki Nishino, the Head of platform planning and management at PlayStation, said that the controllers will soon be sent to game developers for testing.

If you're a console gamer, you're probably looking forward to the launch of the Sony PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X later this year. They're not out yet, but Sony may already be looking to build an improved version of its next-gen console. Sources indicate that the company may already be working on the PS5 Pro.

Got time on hand and salary in the bank? Then this is a good time to shop for some games on the Sony PlayStation Store. Sony has announced in a blog post that it's running the Spring Sale for 2020, which comes with more than 300 games and discounts of up to 85%.

Consoles giants should make peace and not war, at least that what Microsoft seems to be saying. Game streaming services have begun to appear and Microsoft believes that the new competing platforms are the enemies to be focused on. To that end, Microsoft could be looking to form a unified front with its long-time console competitors - Nintendo and Sony.

As one of the major game consoles around, the Sony Playstation 4 is Sony's return to their roots. Rather than make an entertainment system as they did for the Playstation 3, the Playstation 4 beefs up the hardware, streamlines the interface and not-so-surprisingly makes it a lot more social.
