Last week, news was already buzzing around of Spotify raising the price for each plan. But we have realized that the price hike for the Malaysian market has already taken effect for new subscribers.

Over the years, Spotify has developed a reputation for being a user-friendly music streaming app. For a while, the company has remained steady with its subscription fees. However, that would change soon.

Now available on the popular music streaming app on both iOS and Android, there is a new ‘singing’ mode in which Spotify will use your device’s microphone to listen in while you rock out to your favourite songs. Furthermore, the mode will even judge your singing and tell you whether it’s accurate to the lyrics and tone of the song.

Google has announced that it will allow developers the option to offer third-party payment options for apps that is available on the Google Play Store. The pilot programme for the move will start in South Korea with the music streaming app Spotify.

Shared via an Android Developers blogpost yesterday, Google announced that it will allow Android users to select payment systems other than its own soon. Furthermore, it will only start with Spotify and other trusted partners first due to security concerns.

According to sources, Spotify have 'makeover' their web player and desktop app. It took 'months' of test and research to develop the new design to provide better and simpler useful features for the users.

As we are getting closer to the end of 2020, Spotify has released yet another round of top artists, albums and songs of the year. Surprisingly, Spotify also released a #2020Wrapped list for Malaysians on their top tracks and favourites while going through this pandemic period.

Spotify for desktop recently offered a new update which brings several new features and improvements. These include a fully integrated lyrics engine powered by Musixmatch. To activate this feature click the Lyrics button while the song is playing. Other features include an improved Friend Feed to find out what your friends are listening to and daily viral charts for the latest and greatest tracks. Here's what they had to say about it:
