TSMC's 3nm chips will soon enter commercial production this week. As the primary customer of the semiconductor manufacturer, Apple could first use the 3nm chips for upcoming M2 Pro chips that are expected to power the updated MacBook Pro and Mac mini models.

TSMC has reportedly performed better than expected in the industry for the third quarter of 2022. The chip-making company had recorded a 48% increase in revenue, while the others suffered. However, it seems like the company wouldn't achieve the number without its big customer, and it's Apple.

Apple may become the first tech company to use Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s (TSMC) latest 3nm chipmaking technology. In fact, Apple’s iPhones and Macs may use TSMC-produced 3nm chips as early as next year.

Samsung is said to start the mass production for its 3nm chips next week. If it did happen, the Korean tech giant would be ahead of TSMC, which has announced that its production will only start in the second half of 2022.

The news of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ getting delayed to H2 2022 only came out last week. However, the wait might shorten as the latest report tells us that smartphones with the chip could launch as early as next month.

TSMC will reportedly enter mass production for the next-generation 3nm process in the second half of 2022. According to the source, the semiconductor manufacturer is on track to supply Apple with its latest technology in 2023.

Although it has only been less than two months since the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, we have now received the latest information claiming that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus will make it to the market soon.

TSMC's favourite customer is undoubtedly Apple, as most of its sales belong to the Cupertino-based company. Therefore, the semiconductor manufacturer would leave the best to the tech giant, and it might have made someone jealous. According to a recent report, AMD is considering switching to Samsung for its 3nm products due to the TSMC's special treatment for Apple.

While we're waiting for the 4nm chips to arrive, TSMC has improved its 5nm process in the meantime. The semiconductor manufacturer announced an upgrade to its N4 line of 5nm manufacturing process, dubbed N4P. It's said that the new technology will bring several enhancements to the current 5nm technology.
