Asus have already made a good name for itself in the tablet market but it never hurts to diversify. This could be the reason why Asus may release a smaller and lower priced Windows 8 tablet (and because Microsoft asked them to). Jerry Shen, Asus CEO also seemed to confirm this by saying that he believed prices for Windows 8 tablets would drop to an average of $300 by the end of 2013.

AnTuTu is a benchmark app that posts the scores of various smartphones, tablets and similar devices online. So when a mystery Samsung device posts with the model number GT-P5200 gets AnTuTu scores of 24616, scores which are on the same level as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 based Samsung Galaxy S4, you can bet that we'll take notice. Now, bear in mind that this is a recent happening and that Samsung just don't use the GT-PXXXX naming convention anymore means several things.

Thorsten Heins, BlackBerry CEO probably has the most bitter experience when it comes to making a tablet as BlackBerry's Playbook tablet bombed and continued bombing from the get go. Speaking from this experience he was quoted predicting the death of tablets in general in the next 5 years. His full quote is as follows:

Previously Apple was quite reliant on Samsung for a number of components not least of which being their iPad and iPhone screens as well as their processor chips. Since Samsung is now their biggest competitor, both in the smartphone as well as the tablet market, it seems prudent that Apple distance themselves and they have apparently done so. Recently Apple decided to use screens from Innolux Corp for its iPad mini touchscreens. While Samsung was originally the one to sever this contract with Apple, it is a telling sign of things to come.

Some of the more recent Apple patent applications have been really far out of this world, and the same could be said for this latest patent which files for a removable touchscreen laptop. In essence the patent files for a laptop (with all of the hardware located under the keyboard) and a touchscreen that can be removed and carried about while the operating system is streamed to the touchscreen from the laptop via a 60GHz ultrawideband format. While at first it sounds like Apple is copying the Asus Transformer Prime, in actuality this patent filing is more similar to the Asus Transformer AIO than the Transformer Prime. The only major difference is that the touchscreen display doesn't have any actual hardware of its own, so if you get out of range of the laptop, it will stop working.

When Samsung's Galaxy S III smartphone first came out, the goal was nothing less than world domination and the result was an awesome final quarter for Samsung in 2012. Based on this and other factors, analyst are now predicting that Samsung will reach a record breaking high of about 70+ million sales for Q1 2013. These analysts have noted that Samsung sold an estimated 25 million phones each month for 2013, which is also one of the factors predicting the 70+ million sales estimate.
