TikTok yesterday announced the launch of TikTok Pulse, a new advertising programme that will allow the platform’s top creators to earn substantially more than its current monetisation programme. Pulse will allow advertisers to buy inventory in the top 4 percent of all videos in 12 different categories on TikTok, which will directly benefit creators.

It looks like Instagram has given up on its attempt to capture the long-form video market following the company’s move to kill off the IGTV standalone app. In an official blog post on Monday (28 February 2022), Instagram confirmed that it is discontinuing support for the IGTV app thus ending the service as a whole. TikTok is once again extending the duration of the videos. Previously, the short-video platform had extended the one-minute limit to three minutes. Now, users start receiving notifications that mention that it's now possible to upload videos for up to ten minutes.
