U Mobile is having a promotion where you can sign up for a second HERO line at 50% off from now until 31 July 2018. It is best to note that the subscription plans eligible to sign up for the promotions are the HERO P98, Unlimited P78, P79 and P99.

U Mobile recently announced that they will be offering the Apple iPhone X (along with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus) from RM3465. The iPhone X will be available with the Postpaid i90 and i30 plans over 24 month contracts and you can pay for it using U Mobile's microCredit or UPackage installment plans. OpenSignal recently announced test results of Malaysia's 6 main mobile operators in terms of 4G signal availability and download speeds. The results point to Yes followed by Maxis leading the pack which includes Celcom, Digi, U Mobile and Webe.

U Mobile recently opened up a register your interest page for those looking to get the Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus under a U Mobile plan. No details as to specific Malaysia release dates or pricing but the page does reveal these iPhones will come in gold (looks rather rose-like doesn't it?), silver and space grey with 64GB and 256GB storage options. If you're an Apple and Celcom, Digi or U Mobile user, you're in luck because they've announced that all subscribers can now pay for purchases in the App Store, Apple Music and iTunes directly from their mobile phone account. This applies to both postpaid and prepaid users.

U Mobile has teamed up with the MinesKi Events Team and Logitech G to launch the Malaysia Esports League or MESL as the biggest Dota 2 League in Malaysia with an RM500000 prize pool split to the champion and top 16 teams. If the winning gamers are U Mobile users then they could win an additional up to RM50000 cash prize with U Mobile's 'For The Win' campaign, which could go to the 2nd or 3rd place teams if they aren't. Starting on 2 September 2017 until before CNY 2018 it is available to both Peninsular and East Malaysian teams of 3 gamers by registering at MESL.my in the coming weeks. U Mobile launched their expanded U Mobile Flagship Store today at Berjaya Times Square, this time with a larger, more comfortable service centre on the first floor. The equally expanded Flagship Store has an official Apple experiental area along with all the other devices available in the U Mobile device stable such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Huawei P10.

U Mobile has announced that they will be doing scheduled system upgrades and maintenance this July and August which may cause some customers to experience service interruptions. Thankfully, these will be done from 12.00 am till 6.00 am so most users won't be affected. All services are set to be fully restored by 10 August 2017 and they'll try to make the upgrades and maintenance as painless as possible. U Mobile and Sun Life Malaysia have partnered up to offer telco-assurance to U Mobile's over 5 million customers. This may include micro insurance at low premiums per month but these products are only set to be available from October 2017. Check back U Mobile's site then for more details.
