U Mobile has announced their new Unlimited HERO Postpaid P78 plan for RM78 a month, providing for a limited time only:

• unlimited calls to all networks
• unlimited high-speed data
• free 10GB hotspot data
• free 5GB Roam-Onz data roaming 

U Mobile had just launched booKu, a service that enables U Mobile subscribers to purchase e-books and e-magazines using their mobile plans. This service is in partnership with four digital publishers, namely SPH Magazines, Pubu eBook, FullAMark and NovelPlus.

U Mobile launched and updated their POWER Prepaid pack as the new UNLIMITED POWER Prepaid pack with App-Onz. App-Onz offers unlimited data for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram use along with 300 minutes of free calls to U Mobile numbers every month. The starter pack has all of the above with 200MB (valid for 10 days) upon activation and RM5 airtime for RM8.50.

The folks at Lowyat.net have apparently found a brochure showing a still unannounced postpaid plan from U Mobile called the Hero P98 plan offering 30GB of data, free data backpack and unlimited calls and Video Onz YouTube streaming. You still have to pay for SMS though, at 3 sen per SMS in the network and 8 sen per SMS to outside networks. There is also no specific Malaysia release date either but if the brochure is already out, the official announcement is probably not that far off either.

To put this into perspective, there are currently no mobile postpaid plans in Malaysia that offer 30GB per month no strings attached. There is almost always a catch like only getting said data after midnight or on the weekends or something similar. U Mobile isn't an exception either but so far, the brochure does not detail whether or not you get all 30GB available to you per month or something like 15GB in the morning and 15GB at night. Are you a U Mobile subscriber that loves to stream videos on your smartphone? Well, you are in luck because starting 29 April 2016, U Mobile will be introducing "unlimited" free video streaming with Video-Onz. They will be collaborating with 11 video streaming partners including Viu, YouTube and iFlix, so you can stream your favourite shows from your favourite video streaming platform at any time.

There seems to be a constant stream of new promotions from U Mobile lately, from free data roaming to the extension of their 15GB P70 promotion. This time around, there is good news for Waze users as starting 19 April 2016 until 31 December 2016, all postpaid plans and U Mobile Unlimited Internet (UMI) plans, as well as prepaid broadband plans MB40 & MB68, will be able to enjoy free data for Waze usage. U Mobile are extending their Hero Plan, the P70 15GB promotions until 31 December 2016 instead of their original intention to end it on 30 June 2016. Whether you are already on the Hero P70 plan or are still thinking about getting it, as long you are subscribing to the Hero P70 plan now or soon, you will still be entitled to 15GB monthly at the cost of RM70/month. This plan will give out unlimited calls to all networks on top of 15GB of high-speed internet. Just only a few days ago U Mobile introduced their U Data Roam plan for frequent travelers. Now they give us another bunch of roaming deals, but this time, it is for their subscriber of Hero P70, i90, i130, UD95 and UD135 postpaid plans. With the U Mobile Data Backpack you will be able to use roaming for free in 12 countries, at the expense of your current data plan with no extra charges. You can refer to the table below for the list of the country and the preferred roaming operator of the country that you might travel to.

Apparently U Mobile have created a page where you can register your interest for the upcoming Apple iPhone SE phone plan from them as well. Unlike the other telcos you can get the iPhone SE using their U MicroCredit installment plans or their UPackage all-in-one installment plan. You can choose to receive updates for both options as well.

U Mobile releases a new roaming plan for frequent travelers out there. If you are a U Mobile subscriber, it does not matter whether if you are on the prepaid or postpaid plan, you will be entitled to their new U Data Roam plan for only RM10/day. The promotion period will last from 7 April 2016 until 31 December 2016. This new plan will include a high-speed unlimited data usage but currently, it is only available in 12 countries as per the table displayed below.
