    MCMC has launched an investigation on TM's unifi packages

    Ever felt that your internet speed isn't near what it was advertised? You're probably not alone, as this is something a lot of unifi users seem to experience. An investigation into Telekom Malaysia's (TM) unifi package was launched earlier today by the MCMC, following a consumer complaint.

    Based on a statement by user Wang Mat on SoyaCincau’s website, it seems that Telekom Malaysia recently reduced the upload of the 500Mbps plan (which is priced at RM249 a month) by halfdown to 100Mbps. Telekom Malaysia mentioned, that the initial 200Mbps that was stated in the plan a while back was a mistake and the upload speed was actually 100Mbps.

    Starting 1 April 2020, Malaysian telcos began to provide users with 1GB of data daily. Although that free data could be used for anything at the time, it only applied from 8 AM to 6 PM each day. Now, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced that the free 1GB will apply for the entire day.
