Back in early July 2019, Vivo Malaysia started teasing a new smartphone. It wasn't just another smartphone, but a new S smartphone series which was quite intriguing. What could the new series bring to the table? We waited and just after three weeks, it was revealed to be the Vivo S1.

While the one in China also has the same name, it's a totally different variant from our local set. For just RM1099 only, this budget-friendly smartphone has quite a lot to offer - a gigantic 4500mAh battery with Dual-Engine Fast Charging technology, In-Display Fingerprint Sensor, Triple Rear Camera and more. This sounds good on paper, but how about in real life? Check it out in our review below.

Just as the Vivo S1 appearing on Maxis and Digi postpaid plan, the device is also available at Celcom when customers sign up for the Celcom Mobile Plans starting today (28 August 2019) onwards.

Still looking to get the Vivo S1 from a telco package? Well, Maxis may just have a great deal for you. Already starting from 23 August 2019 onwards, customers will be able to purchase the device for just RM1 with MaxisOne Plan 158!

In continuing the Vivo S1 hype, Vivo Malaysia has announced that its latest S series smartphone will also be available on Digi Phone Freedom 365 package for only RM36 a month. Available in either Diamond Black and Skyline Blue, any customer who purchases the phone will have a free Bluetooth Speaker.

Happening this Saturday (3 August 2019) at Central i-City, Shah Alam, Vivo Malaysia has just announced that there will be a RM50 cash voucher, a mystery gift and also an electronic weight scale for Vivo S1 buyers.

For a device featuring mid-range tier tech specs, we have to say it isn't so bad on paper.

So the Vivo S1 is here, you already know the price (RM1099), the pre-order is still on-going until 26 July and it will officially be in every Vivo concept store and authorized dealer across the nation on 27 July 2019, as well as its official Vivo online store, Lazada, Shopee and Presto Mall. Again as a friendly reminder, our Vivo S1 is vastly different from China's set. 

So this is it, Vivo Malaysia has officially announced the Vivo S1 and the pre-order has started today until 26 July 2019. Priced at an affordable RM1099, the new S-series smartphone will launch in Malaysia on 24 July and will go on sale after the pre-order period.

The vivo S1 is now officially out in Indonesia but it is definitely not the same variant as the S1 released in China. The smartphone comes with a few differences from its brethren in China, swapping the pop up selfie camera for a waterdrop notch, the Helio P70 chipset for the Helio P65 and the rear mounted fingerprint reader for an in-display fingerprint scanner.
