WhatsApp has announced that starting next year, users will begin to see ads in the messaging app on both Android and iOS. The first ads will be implemented into WhatsApp status, a feature similar to Instagram stories on the app.

A serious vulnerability on Whatsapp has allowed spyware to be installed both Android and iOS devices. The vulnerability was found to have happened through voice calls on the app where the virus was able to install itself onto any device without the users even having to answer the call.

Pretty much everyone we know in Malaysia is using Whatsapp. Its convenient and allows users to communicate via text over different devices regardless of type and brand. However, we may not be able to communicate with our friends on the Windows phone and older Android and iOS devices as Whatsapp will no longer be available on that device.
