Rumours: Xiaomi Mi-4 (Mi4) images leaked, plastic casing confirmed?

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi-4 or Mi4 smartphone is set for it's official announcement tomorrow on 22 July 2014 but leaks of the device have appeared showing the front and back. Somewhat blurry, the images show a shiny backside but according to those who have actually touched it, this is actually plastic. When it was first teased with the statement, "The journey of a piced of steel metal" many industry watchers thought it would mean an all metal casing, including us. Still the statement would still be accurate if the Xiaomi Mi4 uses a tough unibody frame. Other rumoured features and tech specs include a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB storage, a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front camera. • Xiaomi Mi-4 smartphone coming on 22 July 2014?

Xiaomi Mi-4 smartphone coming on 22 July 2014?

Xiaomi co-founder Bin Lin recently shared a big image of a 4 on his Facebook page along with the statement that they would tell the story about "The journey of a piece of steel metal". The image itself looks like that of brushed metal hinting that the Xiaomi Mi-4 could be coming with a metal chassis on 22 July 2014 which is the company's annual product launch event. While the teaser does not mention any tech specs or features it seems obvious that the Xiaomi Mi-4 would come with some hardware refreshes such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 4G LTE or perhaps even a 2K 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution display. The real killer question will be how much it will cost when it does arrive in Malaysia, but we're thinking that it could be around the RM1K level if not RM998 outright. What do you think?
