    The MIUI 7 Global Stable Build has finally arrived in Malaysia, and today I’ll be reviewing the changes with the Xiaomi Redmi 2. The MIUI 7 is based on Android Lollipop patch so expect some nice improvement from it, here-we-go. 

    Note - It's been said that the over-the-air (OTA) download is not 100% ready yet, so for now head over to this site to download the MIUI 7 manually.

    Xiaomi Mi Malaysia have just announced that their Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone is now available for RM399. This is RM50 off of the original price of RM449 and according to them is due to lower costs. In addition, the current "Jom Raya Dengan Mi" event (currently happening today) and PayPal deal will also let you get another RM50 discount if you pay using PayPal for a value beating price tag of just RM349.     The Mi Fan Festival is starting today with various games, discounts and deals for Xiaomi or Mi Malaysia products. As stated earlier the Mi Fan Festival discounts will start from 10.00am to 10.00pm on 8 April 2015 while stocks last and the new Mi products will be put on sale at 12pm and 8pm. Discount coupons won from the Give Mi Five game can also be used except for the Redmi 2Redmi Note 4G and Mi Pad. In addition, new deals and products are also available like the 30% PayPal discount and the Mi Headphones going for just RM319.

    Xiaomi recently announced that their Mi Fan Festival would be held on 8 April 2015 to celebrate the company's 5th birthday due on 6 April 2015. In conjunction with this, Mi Malaysia will be offering existing and new Mi products for 8 April 2015 at 12pm and 8pm. Mi Malaysia fans can also enjoy up to 90% discounts and may also use the the coupons won from playing Xiaomi’s Give Mi Five game for further discounts. These products will include the following:

    The Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone is coming soon to Malaysia with a release date of just tomorrow (17 March 2015) at 12 noon for RM449. The value smartphone features a 64-bit processor, dual SIM dual standby 4G LTE connectivity and other above average tech specs. Thanks to Xiaomi Malaysia we managed to get some hands-on time with the Malaysian version of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and have since updated our Xiaomi Redmi 2 review.     Xiaomi Malaysia has officially announced the Xiaomi Redmi 2 for RM449. It will be available in Malaysia from 17 March 2015 at 12 noon via the usual Mi Malaysia site. Donovan Sung, Director of Product Management, Xiaomi Global was on hand to show off the highlights of the Redmi 2 smartphone. Notable stand out features include dual standby 4G LTE, the new 64-bit Snapdragon 401 processor, MIUI 6 and a more compact, slimmer and thinner design compared to the Redmi 1S.     When the Xiaomi Redmi 1S first arrived in Malaysia it really stirred up the market by delivering a 4.7-inch display smartphone with good features at very good value. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is the continuation of that but now brings features like a 64-bit processor and dual SIM 4G LTE for around the same price.     Taking over from the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is the Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone with a new 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor that supports 4G LTE connectivity. Currently available on offer from third-party sellers like SatuGadgetDotCom and DirectD for as low as RM448 the Redmi 2 has yet to officially arrive here in Malaysia.     While it hasn't been released officially here in Malaysia yet, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is available for purchase from third-party sellers. As such, we were able to get our hands on a new set, so do check out our unboxing video for the Xiaomi Redmi 2. The Redmi 2 brings new features to the table over the earlier Redmi 1S which include a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.     While Xiaomi Malaysia have yet to officially announce the Xiaomi Redmi 2 for Malaysia just yet, the Redmi 2 and Redmi Note 4G smartphones are already available via Malaysian third-party sellers. A quick search on Lelong.com.my reveals that the Redmi Note 4G is going for RM519 while the Redmi 2 is going for RM459 from third-party sellers like SatuGadgetDotCom and DirectD. Both smartphones support 4G LTE tech specs but the Redmi 2 packs in a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. The Redmi 2 price may be a bit higher than the expected Malaysia pricing but the Redmi Note 4G is actually priced lower than the RM589 it is being offered for on the official Mi Malaysia site (but it may have not-original warranty). In related news, Xiaomi Mi Power Bank prices have gone up with the 10400 mAh Mi Power bank costing RM49 from RM36, while the 5200 mAh Mi Power Bank now costing RM34 from RM25 due to a rise in value for the Chinese Yuan.
