    Good news for Xiaomi fans everywhere, MIUI 9 Global ROM 7.9.7 update is now live and the third batch of Xiaomi smartphones are now eligible to download it which you can get it from Xiaomi's forum thread here. Below is the list the third batch that can be updated:

    Xiaomi just announced that the latest MIUI 8.2 update is now rolling out to most of the Xiaomi phones made over the last 2 years. These devices would progressively receive the update over-the-air (OTA) through the Updater app. Users can also run a manual update by downloading the update from here too.

    The first round of devices that’ll receive the MIUI 8.2 update are: Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi Note, Mi Max, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G.

Comparing its tech specs against other Xiaomi smartphones, enthusiast suggests that this might be the successor of last year's Redmi 2A, known as the Redmi 3A, which is a slightly redesigned version of the Redmi 3.

    Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi 3 today, and holding true to its teaser the device does sport a massive 4100 mAh battery and the body has a new design look that is made up of 4166 stars woven together to reflect as if there are many diamonds on it. Redmi 3 is will go on sale for RMB 699 (around RM470) tomorrow 12 January.

    While the CES 2016 craze is still on-going, Xiaomi has decided to release a teaser regarding the Redmi 3 smartphone. Judging by the teaser, it’s safe to say that the device will indeed be launched on next Tuesday, 12 January.

    Edit - Tech specs wise, the teaser also confirms the full metal Redmi 3 will carry a 5-inch display and a huge 4100 mAh battery pack. This goes in hand with the device’s certification from TENAA just before the end of 2015, which will sport an octa-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB RAM, a 16GB internal storage (expandable memory available), a 8MP or 13MP rear camera + 5MP front camera, and lastly operating on MIUI based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
