Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Xpeng is advancing plans to expand its global footprint with a potential manufacturing base in Malaysia. According to a statement issued on 12 December, the company is currently in negotiations with Malaysian auto components manufacturer EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) to establish mass production of EVs in the country beginning in 2026.

After over a year, Xpeng’s refreshed G6 has officially made its Malaysian debut, with the facelifted model now available via the country’s sole distributor, Bermaz Xpeng. According to sources, the SUV continues to arrive fully built (CBU) from China, but brings new powertrain options, design tweaks, and variant choices not seen in the earlier version.

During the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) this year, Xpeng Thailand has opened pre-orders for the Xpeng G6. This model will be offered in two variants. However, the official price has not been revealed but is estimated to be between 1.5 million to 1.799 million baht (~RM195k to RM234k).
