Caretaker Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has lauded the implementation of the Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) 5G access agreement, saying that it will enable mobile network operators (MNOs) in our country to save up to RM30 billion over the next decade. The agreement is the world’s first single wholesale 5G network and allows MNOs to save on infrastructure construction costs.

As we enter the month of November, YTL Communications’ Yes continues to expand the 5G network to other regions in Malaysia. This time, the company just recently launched their Commercial 5G service in Ipoh at the Ipoh City Council. 

As Malaysia's other major telcos sign up for Digital Nasional Berhad's (DNB) 5G rollout, Yes 5G continues to be the first telco to offer 5G connectivity in Malaysia. As such, we thought it would be insightful to see how exactly working with DNB has been as told by YTL Communication's CEO Wing Kui Lee (WKL) along with other 5G related questions.

Following some 2 years of negotiations, 4 mobile network operators (MNOs) have executed share subscription agreements (SSAs) for a total of 65 per cent equity stake in Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB). The four MNOs are YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES), Telekom Malaysia (TM), Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) and Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom).

If you haven't been to the city, YES by YTL Communications Sdn. Bhd. just announced its first-ever one-of-its-kind YES 5G Playground in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city. From the 7th until the 31st of March 2022, the YES 5G Playground opens to the public at the Premier Terrace of Lot 10, from 10 AM to 10 PM daily. 

By now, most of you should be aware of the burnt phones that happened last week. Today, we saw an interesting tweet from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) about fake prepaid SIM card registration. Apparently, these fake prepaid SIM cards came from U Mobile, Celcom, Tune Talk, Maxis, YTL Communications and Tone Plus without verifying user information.
