Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has given an update regarding Malaysia’s upcoming second 5G network, revealing that 4 mobile network operators (MNOs) have submitted bids for the network. The MNOs are CelcomDigi, Maxis, Telekom Malaysia (TM) and U Mobile.

The Communications Ministry today announced the Rahmah Student Prepaid Package which offers a minimum of 30GB of data for under RM30 and 180-day validity. Its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil said that the package can be subscribed starting 16 August.

Opensignal's latest Global Mobile Network Experience Awards 2024 report has some interesting key findings on Malaysia's telco 5G operations. According to the report, all six of Malaysia’s national operators are listed in the Global Rising Stars for Download Speed Experience. 

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has asked telco service providers to take immediate action to improve their subpar network service quality in Melaka. This is after a Cellular Service Quality Test (voice calls) conducted on a river cruise along Sungai Melaka in Banda Hilir yielded many dropped call problems.
