A few hours ago, YouTube made a special announcement and hosted "Made on YouTube 2023" on its platform. Among the announcements, the most intriguing one is a new app called YouTube Create which will allow content creators to make videos on the go on their mobile phones.

Remember the Google Stadia? No? That’s okay, not everyone knows about it too. Simply said, Google Stadia allows you to stream video games to players from the company's numerous data centres at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. A recent update suggests the company might bring it back soon.

AI-generated music has become a popular genre these days. Previously, people frowned at the use of AI in music. Some deemed them as non-organic or cheating. Recently, Youtube updated its guideline on health and medical-related content. This update was launched with concerns for the future of medical misinformation policies. That includes removing cancer misinformation too.

In an effort to prevent increased scams and spam on YouTube Shorts, YouTube will be taking action soon to make links in Shorts comments, descriptions and live feeds unclickable. It will begin on 13 August 2023, to further prevent users from harmful content and malware. 

In case you didn’t know, Youtube will stop showing video recommendations if you turn your watch history off. This information is confirmed on Youtube’s support page on 8 August 2023. That said, what should you know about the latest update?

Back in early April this year, YouTube introduced enhanced 1080p for iPhone YouTube Premium users. However, that option is making its way to Premium users globally on their desktops as it was confirmed by a YouTube spokesperson.

Today, Youtube released new features for Shorts. According to the company, this is a lightweight and fun way to create and share short-form videos on YouTube. These new features range from remixing tools to expanding the Youtube Partner Programme so they can monetise their shorts.

YouTube is currently testing a new experimental feature on its app that would prevent accidental touches. Called ‘Lock Screen’, it essentially locks the screen while you’re playing a video.
