New Update - YouTube has confirmed it's an experiment. The spokesperson said "We’re running a small experiment globally that urges viewers with ad blockers enabled to allow ads on YouTube or try YouTube Premium. Ad blocker detection is not new, and other publishers regularly ask viewers to disable ad blockers." 

Back in May, it was reported that YouTube was experimenting with blocking Ad Blockers on its platform. We haven't really heard anything since then until today when Redditor Reddit_n_Me got a new message regarding AdBlock on his YouTube. 

If you're an uprising content creator on YouTube, this is good news for you. YouTube is lowering the requirements for the YouTube Partner Program and it's much easier to get monetised and ads-revenue. However, this initiative is only rolling out for selected countries.

Initially introduced in 2017, YouTube Stories will be killed off starting from 26 June 2023. YouTube made this official in a recent announcement on a Google Support thread. Instead, YouTube suggests that content creators use Shorts and Community Posts to do all the teasers, trailers and supporting information for YouTube videos.

Do you like watching YouTube on your smart TV? Well, bad news for you because the company is planning to put longer unskippable ads, even when your video is paused. Well, starting with the Americans first.

Almost everyone has a Google Account but so are inactive ones. With this, Google has announced that its inactive accounts will be shut down in due time. As long as the Google Account (whether it's Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet, Calendar, YouTube and Google Photos) has not been used or signed in for at least two years, it shall be deactivated.

Back in October 2021, YouTube Premium prices went up for a few countries but Malaysia wasn't one of them until this week. From now onwards, the YouTube Premium for Family is now RM33.90 per month.

If you frequently watch YouTube videos on your desktop computer, then the annoying overlay ads covering a small portion of the video should be familiar to you. Well, even the Google-owned video platform agrees that the overlay ads are intrusive and has announced that it will be removing them beginning next month.

Recently appointed YouTube CEO Neal Mohan recently shared the platform’s priorities for 2023 via an official blog post. Among others, Mohan announced that the company would be introducing new generative AI tools for creators “in the coming months”.
