During the WWDC 2016, Apple has unveiled the next successor to its current Mac operating system the OS X 10.11 El Capitan - the macOS Sierra. Apple really makes all kinds of patents, but some just seem to fit with what they're doing at the time like this patent describing a design for flexible batteries. The patent itself was filed in December 2011 but it covers the design of a flexible battery pack which allows the battery to be shaped to fit a form factor of an electronic device. Apart from being perfectly suited for Apple's upcoming iWatch, the isolated cell design allows it to be more reliable in that in case one of the cells fail the other cells will not fail together. While it seems to fit with the iWatch, this flexible battery design could just as well be used in any of Apple's other devices.
