The United States of America has ordered Anthropic to cut foreign access to both their Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models, citing the usual “Security Concerns” as the reason. Many are saying this is because they’re afraid the Anthropic guardrails could get bypassed, but it’s also not the first time that AI has been used by hackers.

According to the Financial Times and Reuters, OpenAI is looking to make ChatGPT into a Generative AI “Super App” . This includes more coding tools and AI agents that may allow it to overcome Anthropic’s Claude. OpenAI already has the Atlas browser, Codex for coding and is partnering with Canva and Booking.com to round out its other features.

In what seems like a step in the right direction, Microsoft recently announced 7 new AI models of their own that have been trained on clean data. These are MAI Image-2.5, MAI Image-2.5-Flash, MAI Transcribe-1.5, MAI Thinking-1, MAI Voice-2, MAI Voice-2-Flash and MAI Code-1-Flash. Most LLMs (Large Language Models) are trained using public data which are usually not paid for. 

At this week's Google I/O 2026, the company announced some changes to its subscription AI service. For instance, Google AI Pro subscribers now have access to YouTube Premium Lite as a bonus. The Google AI Ultra plan now also has a more affordable version. However, users have spotted a new problem.

Google has recently revealed the Google Pics for Google Workspace landing page just a few hours ago. From the description of the features, it seems that it will be a new AI image generation and editing app built into Google Workspace like Slides. 

The rampant use of AI these days means celebrities and even content creators have to be extra mindful. You never know when you could be misrepresented by deepfake videos made using your likeness. Fortunately, content platforms like YouTube are actively looking for ways to detect deepfakes.

The Gemini roll-out continues as Google recently and officially announced Gemini in Chrome for Malaysia. Located in the top right corner under “Ask Gemini”, this opens up the Gemini Prompt window on the right of the currently opened tab. It’s no secret that many jobs may be replaced by AI, with one of the most likely jobs being CEO or Chief Executive Officer. Rather than fear it, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Meta is looking to be embracing it as news indicates that he may be working on an AI CEO assistant. 

According to Google, they've found that most of their users have gotten used to the new additions of AI and Gemini to Google Search and are now asking longer and more complex questions. They say that 5 trillion searches annually are now complemented enough by AI Overviews and AI Mode that the rate of irrelevant ads has been reduced by 40%.
