ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced today that the GR8 II is now available for pre-orders in Malaysia. The GR8 II is the successor to the original ROG GR8 that dates back to 2014. It features a tiny 4-litre chassis packed with components offering desktop-levels gaming performance that’s apparently Virtual Reality (VR) ready.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC)’s latest report, despite the whole Galaxy Note 7 fiasco last year, Samsung remains as the top smartphone brand in Malaysia. OPPO and Huawei takes second and third spot respectively, to make up the top 3 brands that took up more than 50% of the Malaysian market share in 2016. Compared to 2015, smartphone shipments in Malaysia had dropped by 5.9% in 2016. This could be due to various negative economic factors, amongst, which included the weakening Malaysian Ringgit against US Dollar, as well as the rising costs of living in Malaysia.

ASUS Malaysia launched their first Republic of Gamers (RoG) concept store today here on the ground floor of Plaza Lowyat. ASUS Malaysia recently announced that their online ecommerce portal, the ASUS Store is now officially open for business here in Malaysia. As mentioned earlier, key highlights of the site include the fact that ASUS devices like the ZenFone smartphones are sold at the recommended retail pricing.
