    U Mobile introducing enhancements to GX30 and GX38 prepaid plan starting 12 June 2020

    U Mobile has officially announced that the GX30’s speed will be doubled from 3 Mbps to 6Mbps, while the hotspot data will be increased from 3GB to 6GB. The GX38, on the other hand, will have its hotspot data increased to 6GB as well while speed remains the same at 6Mbps.

    Based on a blog entry posted on the Chromium BlogGoogle will remove ads that hogs too much of the device’s system resource, making the user experience much more enjoyable especially for those with limited internet data. This is due to the fact that Google recently discovered that some of the ads use up much more battery and bandwidth than usual, which can be a problem especially for those who signed up with telco that provides very limited internet data.

    Google has given us a little more information regarding Google Stadia, and how much bandwidth is required in order to stream content of various resolutions and frame rates. Based on the infographic provided, Stadia requires a minimum of 10Mbps connection in order to sustain a constant 720p 60FPS game stream while the Stadia Pro requires the highest recommended speed for 4k 60FPS HDR with 5.1 surround sound content is 35Mbps and above.

    Based on a statement made by China Mobile on Weibo on 16 March 2019, the People’s Liberation Army General Hospital, China Mobile and Huawei, has successfully conducted a remote brain surgery to treat Parkinson’s disease, which makes it the first remote surgery ever conducted on a 5G network.

    TM UniFi has announced that in conjunction with the 2019 Lunar New Year, they will be offering existing and new UniFi Basic customers an opportunity to experience unlimited quota and uncapped internet until 15 February 2019. Do take the word “uncapped” with a grain of salt and UniFi did not mention any bandwidth limitations during the promo.

    Based on a report from Lowyat.net, there seems to be a Streamyx promo circulating around offering 8Mbps for RM100 a month and 4Mbps for RM90 a month. Not only that, the promo also offers unifi TV set top box as well as a wireless router and a DECT phone included in the packages mentioned. However, the promo is only available to newly registered customers only and not available to existing Streamyx customers.
