Google has brought some advanced video-editing features to the Google Photos app today for Android phones. The features which were only available to the iOS version of the app previously are now arriving for Android users as well with a server-side update.

As many of you know, the free 15GB cloud you get with your Google account is shared across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos. Interestingly, photos and videos you upload to Google Photos didn't count, which has been a boon for those who have a lot of those. But Google has announced that it will be changing that policy starting 1 June 2021.

Photographs are akin to memories, as they are often taken at places we visit or of people we know. These photos are usually stored online these days so that we can have it all in one place and reminisce from time to time. So, Google decided that redesign its Google Photos app, giving it a focus on helping users relive their memories.
