Based on a report on fd.nl, it seems that the European Union is working on a proposal which requires smartphones to have user-replaceable batteries. This is due to the fact that old and worn out batteries are usually the main reason why users swap out their old smartphone for a newer device.

During the 5G summit in Barcelona, OPPO’s Chief 5G Scientist Henry Tang has stated that they plan to release a dual-mode 5G-capable smartphone by the end of 2019. The aforementioned smartphone is able to support both standalone and non-standalone networks, which will improve the 5G the user experience.
