Unlocking tech gadgets has more different ways with time passes. From pin and password back then, most of us now rely on fingerprint or face to access our personal smart devices. Now, OPPO might be planning to standardize a new unlocking method, which is using the veins. 

When it comes to biometric authentication, it's hard to say whether face or fingerprint recognition is more secure. But Apple seems to think the latter would definitely be needed, with a rumour of Touch ID coming back to the flagship iPhone models appearing before. Now, we also know Apple is working on a new Touch ID.

Fingerprint sensors have been on smartphones for years, but most people probably don't know how they work. Well, the average fingerprint sensor is optical, meaning that it's sort of like a camera. We've seen plenty of cases where people can hack fingerprint sensors to steal fingerprints before and now there's a new case with the Xiaomi Mi 9T.

The hard working folks at LG Innotek recently announced an under glass fingerprint sensor module by installing the sensor in a shallow furrow of 0.01 inches or 0.3mm on the lower backside of the cover glass. Tests with the module reveal that it is just as accurate (if not better) as existing exposed fingerprint sensors with a false acceptance rate of 0.002%. With this sensor embedded beneath the glass near the bezel, the sensor is better protected from water and shock while smartphone designers can create better designs like other capacitive keys.
