During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Huawei was awarded the ‘Outstanding Contribution for LTE Evolution to 5G’ as well as Best Technology Enabler for NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) solution. It’s noted that this is the first year that GSMA has chosen to present the award for 5th generation mobile networks (5G), which Huawei showcased at the event with their “4.5G Evolution to 5G” solution for high-quality coverage, ultra-large capacity and flexible network architecture, helping operators to keep ahead on the road to 5G and making it a reality.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC)’s latest report, despite the whole Galaxy Note 7 fiasco last year, Samsung remains as the top smartphone brand in Malaysia. OPPO and Huawei takes second and third spot respectively, to make up the top 3 brands that took up more than 50% of the Malaysian market share in 2016. Compared to 2015, smartphone shipments in Malaysia had dropped by 5.9% in 2016. This could be due to various negative economic factors, amongst, which included the weakening Malaysian Ringgit against US Dollar, as well as the rising costs of living in Malaysia.

According to the latest report from research firm IDC, OPPO is now the top smartphone brand in China. The company took a 16.8% share of the market, shipping a total of 78.4 million units in 2016! It is closely followed by Huawei, as well as Vivo, making up the Top 3 with a 48% total market share.

It appears that Honor's VR phone is coming soon as a the Honor DUK-TL30 has appeared at TENAA bearing a 5.7-inch display with 2K pixel resolution and 6GB RAM. Other tech specs include 128GB of storage and 12MP + 2MP dual rear cameras much like the Honor 6X.
The Huawei WAS-AL00 on the other hand, features a 5.2-inch FHD display, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 2900 mAh battery and a single 12MP rear camera. No Malaysia release dates or any news if Malaysia will be getting these devices at all, but stay tuned to TechNave.com to stay updated.
