Now, gamers in the country (well, at least games on Steam) can breath a sigh of relief as Steam is now operational again in Indonesia after the gaming platform complied with the new law.

BigPay users can now send money to recipients with no bank accounts in Indonesia and the Philippines

Called ‘Cash Pickup’, this new feature allows BigPay users in Malaysia and Singapore to send money to recipients in the aforementioned countries even if the recipients don’t have any bank accounts.

A new study by Visa have found that 93 percent of consumers in Southeast Asia have embraced cashless payment methods, including cards, contactless cards and mobile contactless, mobile wallets and QR code payments. Furthermore, the study found that 74 percent of Malaysian consumers have successfully gone cashless.
