Anthony Loke, Malaysia’s Minister of Transportation recently announced that all public transportation will apply an open payment system so you may be able to use credit and debit cards to pay for Public Transportation. Previously, you could only use tokens or Touch N’ Go cards to make digital payments for Public Transportation like buses, LRT, MRT and Komuter.

RapidKL has clarified that customers using its services during the month-long free ride period will have to either use a Touch ‘n Go card or collect tokens at the respective station’s customer service office. This is because ticket vending machines in all of Rapid KL’s station will not be in service throughout the period.

However, there are some who don't like the idea as waiting time for public buses can be uncertain and sometimes it'll take long. To make changes, RapidKL announced that the waiting time for selected RapidKL, Go KL, LRT, and Smart Selangor will now be displayed on Google Maps in real-time.
