  • Following the severe floods that plagued most of the state in December last year, the Selangor State Government has announced that a new flood warning system will be operational by the end of this month. The high-tech system will be able to predict floods 7 days in advance as well as areas in Selangor that will be affected.

The matter was announced yesterday by the Selangor State Infrastructure and Agriculture Committee chairman Izham Hashim who believed that Selangor will soon be able to manage future floods more effectively with the new system in place. As reported by Malay Mail, Izham said that the 7 days advance notice will help to put rescue teams on alert to respond to any rise in water levels.
