Update: Earlier on, we reported that Astro and Netflix could be in a new partnership but it's now confirmed. Astro customers will soon be able to enjoy Netflix access on their connected Ultra Boxes, first at launch, and on connected Ulti Boxes in the coming months.

On 5 April, LG officially announced that it would pull itself out of the smartphone business after years of declining sales. The company has decided not to make Android smartphones anymore but will continue to provide support for existing devices. Today, the news has come claiming that the Korean tech company is in talks with Apple about selling iPhone in its stores.

Facebook wants you to stay in the app even when you want to listen to music by releasing this Spotify miniplayer. From now on, users can directly play songs shared by others from Spotify in the social media app without the need to switch to the music app. It’ll be available on both iOS and Android and in 27 markets with Malaysia being one of them.

Unlike Xiaomi, it looks like HUAWEI will not be making its own smart vehicles. Instead, the company has announced that it will be partnering with three automobile companies to launch three sub-brands for smart cars. With that said, the Chinese tech giant will not be focusing on building cars but helping others build good cars by using its advanced technology. 

Other than just releasing smartphones with different colours, some smartphone brands have also collaborated with other industries for special editions of their devices. With that being said, OnePlus has been working with British sports car manufacturer McLaren for years to release devices that come with McLaren-inspired design. However, it is reported that the partnership between OnePlus and McLaren has come to an end, so don't expect any OnePlus 8 McLaren Editions to be released.

Today, Samsung Electronics is happy to announce that they have just partnered with AMD. Together, they aim to create "ultra-low power, high-performance mobile graphics IP based on AMD Radeon graphics technologies" which sounds kickass for future mobile gaming.

U Mobile and Sun Life Malaysia have partnered up to offer telco-assurance to U Mobile's over 5 million customers. This may include micro insurance at low premiums per month but these products are only set to be available from October 2017. Check back U Mobile's site then for more details.
