Rapid On-Demand (ROD), the on-demand transit service operated by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, has been around for a few months now since 2025. Recently, the company confirmed that it will transition to a permanent fixed fare of RM2 starting 1 February 2026, concluding the RM1 promotional pilot period that has been in place since its launch.

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) today confirmed that it has encountered a cybersecurity incident in which there was unauthorised access to some of the company’s systems. However, the company assured that the incident didn’t disrupt its daily operations.

Based on a tweet by Twitter user @orangesalji83, it seems that a MyDebit card reader has been spotted at Rapid KL Wangsa Maju, hinting that it could be possible to pay using debit cards in the future. While there’s no official information on when we can officially pay using a debit card, Lowyat did mention that only MyDebit cards are accepted by the card reader.

MyEG recently released a statement which was spotted on the Friends of MyEG Facebook page, stating that the COVID-19 rapid test kits that they’re offering on their official website are not fake and it's currently pending on approval from the Ministry of Health. Not only that, but they have also stated that the aforementioned kits are currently in use in regions such as China, as well as Europe.

It seems that MyEG’s official website has recently started offering the COVID-19 Rapid Test Kit, which can be purchased for only RM99. Not only that, but their website also shows you how to properly use the aforementioned kit.
