During Proton's presentation on its latest e.MAS EV branding last night, things were going well until a mistake was spotted. In case you haven't seen it yet, the company somehow confused the locations between Sabah and Sarawak on the road map.

Today, OPPO Malaysia announced that there will be a grand opening of its 3.0 Pro Design My OPPO Space in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Scheduled to launch on 30 May 2024, the company has planned a couple of exclusive promotions and activities for the Sabahans. 

With Astro Fibre’s partnership with Celcom Timur (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd. (CT Sabah) which commenced last year, Astro announced that it will provide a new offer to Sabahans within CT Sabah’s fibre network coverage. There will be new TV packs and high-speed broadband starting from only RM99.99 per month.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has announced that the government has agreed to subsidise the purchase of economy flight tickets from Peninsula Malaysia to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan during festive seasons. Prices will be capped at RM599 for a one-way trip, starting with the Christmas period later this month.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has provided an update regarding the 5G coverage in Sabah. According to its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil, the network’s coverage in the East Malaysian territory’s populated areas is almost at 50 per cent as of 30 September.

Today, Astro Malaysia has joined hands with Celcom Timur (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd. ("CT Sabah") to launch a new high-speed broadband service in Sabah. The partnership aims to bring fast and reliable internet connectivity to approximately 118,000 households across various towns including Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Semporna, Sandakan, and more.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that the 4G network coverage in Sabah’s populated areas has increased to 88.06 per cent. Its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil said that the statistic is as of the third quarter of 2022.

Sabah Assistant Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (KSTI) Datuk Seri Dr Ruddy Awah has announced that the 4G coverage in the state’s populated areas is at 88.06 per cent as of the first quarter of 2022. For comparison, the coverage was at 73.41 per cent in the second quarter of 2020, which is prior to the implementation of the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA).

Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa yesterday revealed that the 4G network coverage in Sabah has now reached 86.9% at its populated areas. This is thanks to the concerted efforts in strengthening broadband service infrastructure in the state, especially through the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA).

Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom) in a statement yesterday stressed that it is aiming to expand the coverage and capacity of its 4G LTE service in East Malaysia by the year’s end. The company is aiming for 92 percent coverage in Sarawak and 85 percent in Sabah.
