Sony PlayStation Summer Deals discount on selected PS devices and video games, as low as RM39

In this period, it's a pretty great time to buy video games as a source of entertainment for staying at home. You have the infamous Steam sales, the occasional Switch sales, but it seems that the Sony PlayStation Summer Deals is still ongoing for a longer time.

  • New patent for Sony VR/AR headset could be the PlayStation VR 2 with haptic feedback

New patent for Sony VR/AR headset could be the PlayStation VR 2 with haptic feedback

Other than making the PlayStation 5 (PS5) backward compatible with PlayStation 4 (PS4) games, there is another PS4 thing that Sony would like to bring over and it's the PlayStation VR. Currently, the company is working hard to improve the VR experience to match the PS5. However, a leak suggested that they might also be making a totally new VR headset for the next-gen console.

'Worms' is making a comeback but as a new battle royale game

Oh snap, Worms is coming back? You bet but unfortunately not on most gaming platforms or the way you think the game is. According to the newly released trailer, this classic game will be revamped as a battle royale game (Worms Rumble) and it will be exclusive on the Sony PlayStation 4.

    Sony Playstation 4 review - A true gamer's console

As one of the major game consoles around, the Sony Playstation 4 is Sony's return to their roots. Rather than make an entertainment system as they did for the Playstation 3, the Playstation 4 beefs up the hardware, streamlines the interface and not-so-surprisingly makes it a lot more social. Is it enough to sway your decision away from the other major gaming console (sorry Nintendo, the Wii U is not competition)? Read on and find out in our Technave.com review of the Sony Playstation 4.

  • Sony PlayStation Vita Slim and Vita TV announced for Malaysia from RM859 and RM469

Sony PlayStation Vita Slim and Vita TV announced for Malaysia from RM859 and RM469

While the Sony PlayStation 4 got announced for Malaysia, Sony also announced the Sony PlayStation Vita Slim (PCH-2006) and Sony PlayStation Vita TV game consoles as well. While the WiFi capable PS Vita Slim is more portable it will be priced from RM859 while the non-portable (no display or battery) PS Vita TV will be priced from RM469. The PS Vita Slim is now 20% slimmer and 15% lighter than the PS Vita and come to Malaysia from 6 December 2013. The PS Vita TV on the other hand will be offered from 16 January 2014. If you like playing PlayStation Vita games then by all means get the PS Vita Slim but again we feel that the pricing is a bit high for the region, especially since the PS Vita Slim would only cost about RM600 or so in Japan.

  • Sony PlayStation 4 announced for Malaysia from RM1799

Sony PlayStation 4 announced for Malaysia from RM1799

Sony has recently announced the Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) console for Malaysia from a rather high price of RM1799. The Malaysia release date for the PlayStation 4 is set at 20 December 2013 and you can preorder the console online as well. It will have a regional warranty and not a country warranty, so you can get the same warranty for a PS4 bought in Singapore as one bought in Malaysia, provided that the PS4 has already been launched, so if you're thinking about getting the console overseas, better wait after the Malaysia release date. So far the pricing in Malaysia looks to be the highest in the region with the PS4 only going for RM1641 in Singapore and RM1393 in Hong Kong (the US price is just a mere RM1277). The standard package comes bundled with a Dual Shock 4 Controller, micro USB cable, Mono headset, power cable and HDMI cable. For an extra RM100 you can get the PlayStation Camera bundled as well at RM1899.

  • Sony Malaysia holding PlayStation 4 (PS4) press conference on 14 November 2013

Sony Malaysia holding PlayStation 4 (PS4) press conference on 14 November 2013

Sony Malaysia have recently sent out invites for an event on 14 November 2013, where they will share news and information regarding the Sony PlayStation 4 game console. Personally, we're expecting big things from the PlayStation 4 and while the press conference most probably is just a teaser to the actual Malaysia launch and release date of the PlayStation 4, Malaysian gamers would do well to stay tuned for that event. As it is, it probably isn't the launch date as previous news has indicated that the Sony PlayStation 4 would get a Malaysia release date sometime in December 2013. Or it could be to tell everyone that the Sony PlayStation 4 or PS4 would be available globally the next day on 15 November 2013, which is the date it is launching in the US. For a refresher, check out the Sony PlayStation 4 videos in this article.

Sony Playstation 4 coming to Malaysia in December 2013

Sony have recently announced that their upcoming next-generation PlayStation 4 gaming console will be released in Malaysia and other selected Asian Markets in December 2013. The selected markets include Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. The PlayStation 4 will come with the console and certain peripherals (probably just one DualShock 4 controller). However, extra controllers, charging docks and the PS4 camera will also be made available at the same time. Unfortunately, still no pricing or exact Malaysia release dates for those of you looking to camp out for the usual early bird combos. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated as to any new developments.

  • Sony Playstation 4 Confirmed Release Dates on 15 November for US and 29 November in Europe

Sony Playstation 4 Confirmed Release Dates on 15 November for US and 29 November in Europe

At the recent Gamescon 2013, Sony announced that their Sony Playstation 4 game console finally has officially confirmed release dates. However, these are just for the markets in US and Europe with the release date for the US being 15 November 2013 while the release date in Europe is 29 November 2013. According to previous reports, the new Sony Playstation 4 game console will be offered at $399 (RM1320) in the US and EUR399 (RM1763) in Europe. Toss in shipping of about $100 or EUR100 and you could see the total price being $499 (RM1651.94) or EUR499 (RM2205.50) if you can't wait any longer. Rest assured though that the console will be launched in 32 other markets, including Malaysia but no specific release dates or pricing for Malaysia was made available just yet. We estimate that it should arrive in early 2014 so start saving up now and perhaps get your camping gear ready for the inevitable early bird special promotions.
