When going through your feed on X (formerly Twitter), you'll likely encounter posts you like enough to save for later. But even though you can save bookmarks, there isn't a better way to track your favourite content. That's changing with the platform's later History tab.

X has revealed that it suspended around 800 million accounts within a 12-month period as part of a major effort to combat spam, bot activity and coordinated manipulation campaigns on the platform. The disclosure was made during a briefing with lawmakers in the United Kingdom, where the company discussed its ongoing battle against inauthentic activity.

As you should know by now, X and xAI's Grok got into a big controversy over the past few days. Investigations were launched a few days ago, and new research reveals that Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot generated an estimated 3 million sexually explicit images over 11 days, including around 23000 that appear to depict children, sparking global alarm over the misuse of generative AI technology.

With the recent Grok controversy going on, X and xAI recently announced a policy update to prevent Grok, their AI chatbot, from generating sexualized or explicit images of real people, including requests like placing individuals in bikinis or revealing clothing. The company stated that these restrictions would apply to all users, including those in jurisdictions where such content is prohibited.

In case you missed it, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has ordered a temporary restriction on access to Grok, the artificial intelligence tool developed by xAI, due to the repeated cases of misuse. The directive was issued and took effect on 11 January 2026, and it applies to all users in Malaysia as a preventive and proportionate measure while legal and regulatory processes are ongoing.

Wondering why your feeds aren't loading? Apparently, Twitter X began experiencing a major outage, with tens of thousands of users reporting issues. According to status-tracking site Downdetector, problems began around 7 PM in the Malaysia time zone, when over 400 reports flooded in. Both the mobile app and web version were showing error messages like “Posts aren’t loading right now” or just old posts from hours ago.

It was only a week ago when Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the government is looking to implement age verification and identity checks for all users on social media. Looks like things are getting serious, as MCMC will convene meetings next week — in cooperation with other government agencies — with major social-media platform providers including Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram), Google LLC, X Corp (formerly Twitter) and TikTok.

In case you missed the news, U.S. embassies and consulates have implemented a new requirement to enter the country. All applicants for F, M, and J non?immigrant visas must set their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter X and similar accounts to "public" for vetting.

X is now introducing a special account called X Originals, and will focus on sharing various original content developed and published specifically for the X platform. This move is also seen as in line with X's focus on increasing video content on the platform, thereby encouraging users to spend more time using X. So, what should you know about it?
