    Update - We just got a new update the new WhatsApp video call upgrade will be increased to 8 participators. Currently in beta mode, only testers can try it out on both iOS and Android. It will take some time for the official update to roll out globally. 

    Based on a statement by wabetainfo.com, it seems that WhatsApp could with a feature which allows more than 4 participants in a single video or audio call at the same time. This is particularly useful especially during the COVID-19 outbreak, as many of us are stuck at home in order to reduce the chance of getting infected.
