It seems that Xiaomi’s CEO recently posted an update on his Weibo account, asking fans whether they would be interested in purchasing a premium Xiaomi smartphone for the price of RMB10000 (~RM6279). While not much is known in regards to the exact details regarding what the premium smartphone could be, it does give us a better understanding of what to expect from Xiaomi in the near future.

Good news for both Xiaomi and OnePlus users, the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro, as well as the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, have new software updates coming soon. For the Mi 10T series, Android 11 updates have just started rolling out in India and as for OnePlus 8 series, OxygenOS beta 6 is currently in development.

With that being said, Xiaomi could be the first smartphone manufacturer of the year 2021 to bring back the modular smartphone trend if they were to release the aforementioned device.

Samsung Display is going all out with its foldable displays this year by producing 11 million of them. According to the source, the display manufacturer will also supply some of the foldable panels to Chinese smartphone companies. From what we see, 2021 is going to be the turning point for the foldable smartphone market.
