Samsung has announced that they will be unveiling their 108MP ISOCELL image sensor, on the 12 August 2019. The new image sensor is capable of producing images up to 12032 x 9024 in resolution, which is substantially more compared to the current industry standard of 64MP sensor. 

During the Xiaomi Future Image Technology Communication conference in Beijing, China earlier today. Xiaomi has made a rather big announcement, stating there is a big possibility that they will be releasing a smartphone equipped with a 108MP image sensor manufactured by Samsung. The sensor is capable of churning out images with a resolution of up to 12032 x 9024 pixels.

On 20 December 2018, Xiaomi submitted a patent scheme of a camera system consisting of a primary camera, as well as a periscope camera lens setup. The benefit of the periscope camera lens is that it provides the phone with enhanced zoom capabilities for the camera. It is best to note that this technology isn’t new, as smartphone manufacturers such as OPPO and Huawei had already equipped with their latest smartphones with it.

There have been rumours floating around, hinting the possibility of smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Xiaomi could have their smartphones fitted with a 64MP image sensor. Surprisingly, Realme was the first to release a photo sample taken from the aforementioned image sensor, beating Samsung and Xiaomi to the punch.

XDA-Developers.com spotted a few lines of code found in the upcoming MIUI 10, which hints at the possibility of a future Xiaomi smartphone coming equipped with a 64MP camera sensor. In addition to that, the codes also revealed a functionality which applies a watermark onto the picture that was taken by the smartphone as well.

Xiaomi has announced that their 100W Super Charger has hit the mass production phase, and we should expect this technology to be available Q3 or Q4 end this year. As far as we know from the video courtesy of weibo.com, the charger is able to fully charge a 4000mAh battery in about 17 minutes.

 Xiaomi has just revealed their 100W fast charging for smartphones called Super Charge Turbo. In a Weibo post, President and co-founder of Xiaomi stated that the technology can charge a smartphone from 0-100% in just 17 minutes.

Foldable smartphones seem to be a thing this year with companies such as Huawei and Samsung about to unveil their very own. Even Xiaomi has admitted that they are working on one and now 3D renders of their device has surfaced online, showing that it is a double foldable design.

Evan Blass recently released a video on his Twitter account showcasing a hands-on demo of a bendable smartphone. Based on the tweet, Evan has noted that the device is allegedly manufactured by Xiaomi. However, there is no further proof that the bendable smartphone actually was made by the manufacturer mentioned.

Xiaomi is said to be developing a smartphone that features a 48MP camera. The rear camera setup may include the aforementioned 48MP camera and a super wide-angle lens. It is rumoured to be released in the Redmi series due to Xiaomi’s president’s initial announcement on the Redmi social account.
