Today, Sony announced the new Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI. Although there are no official price tags yet, Sony Malaysia has confirmed that the phones will be coming here in July and August 2024, respectively.

Marketed as a camera-centric device, Sony has integrated a 12MP telephoto lens with an 85mm focal length that's capable of zooming up to x7.1. It's also accompanied by a 52MP primary camera with Exmor T for mobile sensor and another 12MP ultrawide camera with Exmore RS. All the lenses use Zeiss coating.

The 12MP front camera is a punch hole at the top centre of the 6.5-inch FHD+ HDR OLED display. Besides its 120Hz refresh rate, the display is "Powered by BRAVIA" and Sunlight Vision. The BRAVIA technology comes from Sony's TV lineup and the Sunlight Vision lets you see content on the display under direct sunlight.

The Xperia 1 VI is also powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS storage (expandable via microSDXC card up to 1.5TB). It runs on Android 14 and Sony said it will have three years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates. Lastly, there's also a 5000mAh battery with fast charging technology and it's said to last two days (depending on daily usage).

On the other hand, the Xperia 10 VI features a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It only has a 48MP + 8MP dual rear camera, while the front camera is just 8MP. As a lesser variant, it uses a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS storage (+ the same expandable capability as the Xperia 1 VI). The battery pack is also 5000mAh with the same fast charging technology.

We still have some time before the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI arrive in Malaysia. Until then, stay tuned for our official news at TechNave.com and let us know what do you think of them in the comments below.
