ASUS India recently launched their Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 packing ASUS ZenFone 5Z at 29999 INR (~RM1767) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version, 32999 INR (~RM1944) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version and 36999 INR (~RM2179) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version. Considering that Malaysia is within the same region, it makes sense to assume that the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage ZenFone 5Z will be priced for below RM2K as well.
Featuring an identical design with the ASUS ZenFone 5 ZE620KL, the ZenFone 5Z will also have a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a notch, 12MP dual pixel + 8MP wide angle rear cameras, 8MP front camera, 3300 mAh battery and AI-driven features. It will be made available in meteor silver and midnight blue.
We think that there will only be 2 variations for the ZenFone 5Z in Malaysia though, so it would likely be the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage versions. However, even if you intend to get the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version, it is still the lowest priced Snapdragon 845 equipped smartphone in the market so best to get your money ready as it could go in seconds.
There are no exact Malaysia release dates or price details or release dates just yet but we're thinking it could be announced in late July or early August 2018. It would be great if we could also see them released early but we expect ASUS Malaysia to do flash sales with discounts for each version like they are doing for the ZenFone Max Pro M1 so you might have to expect some delay.
