It's crazy to see how a modest 12MP rear camera got upgraded up to 108MP, we also got to see a fair share of the front camera being bumped up to as high as 32MP. But what if I told you that the front camera could get upgraded to 100MP as well?

At the moment, this is a rumour posted by reputable Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station but it's best to take it with a pinch of salt. We couldn't find his tweet about it either in his Twitter account but sources say a Chinese brand is working on it. A 100MP (or 108MP in technical terms) front camera is too big, though, but there are ways to get it done.

Currently, what phone brands are doing to integrate a 32MP front camera having a pop-up mechanism that doesn't take a lot of space on the display. Some brands are also using a motorized flip camera module such as the ASUS Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 7. Or perhaps they could just boost up the pixels as they did for the rear camera software and call it a day.

Samsung may be ahead of the front camera game as there are rumours that they are already working on a 200MP front camera. Currently, the Exynos 2100 chipset is capable of supporting a 200MP front camera but that is remained to be seen. Until then, we shall see how it goes so stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
