A Huawei Mate 20 smartphone spotted in public revealing a boxed-shaped triple rear camera + some leaked tech-specs

The IFA 2018 event has passed and Huawei already informed everyone that the upcoming Mate 20 series will be introduced in London on 16 October 2018. While the Mate 20 series was not teased much from the event, someone was seen walking around with the actual "unit" of what it appears to be a Mate 20!

Thanks to the guys from Teknofilo.com, they managed to take some paparazzi shots of the "Mate 20". However, the smartphone is covered by a casing but even so, the triple rear camera is exactly the same as the concept renders from XDA-Developers so the rumours actually tally each other well. With this, there's actually a high possibility that the Mate 20 will borrow the same camera module from the P20 Pro which are a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP telephoto lens. In addition to that, since the casing only revealed the triple camera setup, that could also mean the Mate 20 has an in-display fingerprint sensor or none at all, relying on the Face Unlock.

The bottom look

Looks like a 3.5mm headphone jack but it looks too small to be one

The guys also managed to capture some pictures of the phone's bottom, revealing a USB Type-C port only. So it looks like the 3.5mm headphone jack will be gone too and may have moved to the top, that goes the same for the lack of speaker grills. Perhaps Huawei has also integrated a dual front speaker setup? Also, a closer inspection tells us that the SIM tray holder is there as well. Anyway, there's also a Facebook post from G4 Gadgets revealing the tech-specs and features of the phone:

  • A Waterdrop notch
  • Triple rear cameras
  • Kirin 980 processor
  • 4200mAh battery
  • 6.3-inch AMOLED display in 1080p
  • Wireless charging
  • Android Pie (EMUI 9)
  • 3.5mm headphone jack on top
  • USB Type-C
  • Speaker above the notch & bottom side

So what do you think of Huawei's decision for the triple rear camera look? I think it looks unique enough. Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more Huawei news at TechNave.com.
