While there are some rumours that Huawei is skipping the P11 announcement at the MWC 2018, this doesn't mean that they won't be at the event at all. There's a new rumour about the company presenting a new tablet called the MediaPad M5 and it was spotted on FCC just recently, together with its 3D render images. Let's take a look at it and the speculated tech-specs below.

8.4-inch

According to sources, there will be two variants of the tablet - an 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch model, just like the current MediaPad M3 model. So with this, the two model designs are more or less the same but slight differences. First, the 8.4-inch model seems to have more space at the bottom with the home button compared to the 10.1-inch model, its front camera is also at the top while the latter's is laying on the right side so that when users flip it horizontally, the camera will match the user's eyesight, as well as conveniently unlocking it via the fingerprint scanner. The antenna design is also following some of the smartphones we see in the market, and it's also interesting to see that there's no headphone jack anywhere on the sketch.

The 10.1-inch model

On the other hand, there isn't much information about the specifications but the leaks suggest the tablets should feature a Kirin 960 chipset. Also, should there ever be a Lite variant in the future, then it could use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset.

It's nice seeing Huawei still developing tablets for the market even though it's not very "hot" anymore. Would you like these new tablets in Malaysia? Stay tuned at TechNave.com as we draw closer to the MWC 2018.
